heran banget, kadang orang yang udah ngebuat jahat ke kita, turn back ke kita & act ga ada yang salah dengan hari2 sebelumnya ... bener2 heran!
orang2 sekitar kita setelah sekian lama ternyata cuman cheater, and liar - ga pernah seperti yang kita bayangkan ... apakah mungkin berubah? apakah dunia udah ga jelas? dunia ato orang2nya ?

S.O.S please .. can seseorang disana mengubah semua keburukan jadi kebaikan & magical things?

Stroll Along Cambodia's Street ... (part 1)

strolling along streets in cambodia- ..
sure, you'll find lots of things different back way home, but this is cambodia, people- there's shouldnt be any expectation on how it should be look .. he3x ...

these pictures represent some of popular gas station in town- TOTAL gas station, which dominate in red color & TELA gas station, which opposite color in green.
Each of place got its own boutique shop?! .. or should we call it- stop by place ...
not sure really, how to call it- it's the stop over place, where u can find out ur needs in urgently / short term needed.

well... sometimes they provide some groceries too, but not to be expected!

behind TOTAL gas station, as u can see .. there's giant ?? .. it's water tank of the city-
yups, ANZ is quite popular in here .. they took most of strategic place for their advertising.

in fact, they build up their own teritory around Cambodia so much as well-

you'll find it more than 10 branches inside Cambodia itself. Enough with their promotion- we're getting to other place of interest.

Not all places provide you food, as easily as in Thailand ... it would need certain places or corner where you can find food.

people, next here- selling fruit juice & beef satay!

fruit juice, that they sell is mixed of any kind of fruits available + milk + egg ! ... yummy, taste sort of strange & tickling inside my mouth...

the beef satay, i was mentioned- was more like minced beef & they made it to satay.
they grilled outside, to attrack walkers to stop by & enjoy the food-drinks!

last story for this time, ended up with tryin fast food ala street -

they sell in a motorbike, along with the display itself- kinda creative, though ...

variety from sausages to crab imitation - as in japanese food ... choose n fried at that moment, and you can enjoy it in short time too ...

it took only 500 riels for each stick, which in each stick u'll have around 4 to 5 small pieces.

Weekend with Preap Sovath ...

hiyaaa... you must be wondering, who's Preap Sovath? .. what's so special about him?..
well, first of all - he ain't that handsome looking guy. Besides, he's still a nice guy-
He's one of the famous singer in Cambodia - 30's something & got good looking wife, with kids ..

ehemm.. ehmm... i wasn't really spending time with him .. 'cause i met him while i'm having dinner at his restaurant, on weekend. and later on, i met part of his families, and we have dinner together. ??? it was all by coincidence, i sat on my table & they're welcoming guest (since they open recently) and it flows just like that - we ended up talking & sharing experience and having good time!!

it didn't end up only that night, continues to next morning day - ... i went to visit the hair saloon, whom his sister in law manage it. The place is mixed with wedding clothes rental & tailoring, kinda messy- for my perspective view. But looks that business doin' good!
it was a surprise that most customer of hair saloon are men - so, i end up to be the only women inside! even the hair stylist are men! all of them!

cutting wasn't that bad- in fact, they give me lots of layers.. bit changes on the look, quite okay-
and it was really affordable, only 600o riels .. which means around 1,5 bucks only!
give it a try!

Cambodian Houses

dont you all curious to know what will be differences of houses around the world? i do ...

for example, now i'm living at cambodia- so there's bit story I can tell u about it.
as u can see here, their houses are mostly build up, rather than sides- ...
for money & land issue-

i used to be told that after Khmer Rouge, people are able to get free land, since there's no government yet- so they are free to commit whatever land, where they stand-

houses as build goin up, so there'll be more steps for u to climb- sometimes it's unbelievable how they build their stairs. Some people like it wide & huge & grand stair, some like it small & narrow- makes u big fat people hard to climb up.

floor divides to mezaninne and steps up. ussualy ceiling height on the ground floor can reach to 4m, while the mezannine only left to 2.20m only.
this system goes to the next level - each floor,, they got mezaninne!

glasses always decorate their houses- some house they do with mirror, too...

instead of houses, as I mentioned .. there're still left some traditional one's .. wooden house!
of course this one is sort of the left over from the century & also from financial problem.

wooden house ussualy build around 3,00m up from ground level.

under the house- they used for keeping car, nowadays but bfore they kept their pets (cows, excuse me!) under it.

nowadays, they also build it to be part of the house.

it's kinda hard to accept different taste of each country- like house this one ... my friend even said this house is like a doll house!

you'll find many steps before you can get into the house.
see patch tiles outside, to attract or dis-attrack?
fiuhhh... not easy, u know?!

well, there'll be more houses coming in.
I'm sure there'll be more variety & progress into it - since lots of foreigner & local expats back in town. Sure, they'll put their ideas more.

nothing bad about it- this is cambodia houses normally.

Local Warmth ...

remembering last time, i had a visit to my friend's house- and i'm being served this cool drinks, called Spy. It produced by Thai's industry- I'm sure you all know this one. (havent remember what popular in Indonesia, for something like this) ...well, it' on 2 color as wine (red& white)

Also with these little creatures!!

hihihihi.. some of this creatures got the same name, as my x-bf (with small different pronounciations)

big one taste chunky, while the small one are crispy- of course, they cooked & flavours with spices bfore served.

some of my friends (including work colleaque- which are friends of mine, too) join small celebration, i had ... no bday cake was involved, seems i forgotting this one - whuahahaa....

i even come bit late, so sambath & didier comes first.

as shown above - the place is along the river, where the main attraction of the city placed.

it was a long way to go, strecth from one street to another street-

take me around 1hour to stroll along the river & enjoying the ambience taken place.

it was quite rarely, started with traffic jam surrounding the royal palace- oh, yeah.. royal palace located near the riverside, and yesterday lights were on - take a look at the pict! gorgeous, isn't it? ...

seems that there's guess coming in - visit king & family (mom & dad, for sure - 'cause new king doesn't have wife) .. so (as ussual happen) they block place surrounding, protect whoever coming ... such a paranoid? or such a protection?

front of it, there's big garden - where cambodians & some of foreigners like to take a walk or simply relaxing .. with the accompanion of their lovers, family or simply friends - hang out together. Food easily provide, since lots of stalls spread around .. from grilled chicken wing - fried bird - 'til fried chicken claws! You name it-

(sowry.. dont provide u details picture of each food, i'm affraid all birds will run away to see my flash light)

people sitting on their mat & order their food, place their shoes near them- make sure noone will snap them off and enjoy their meal- Meal? yes, cause most people come to have their dinner here .. so they dont have to bother to cook when they reach home. "Food is cheap around here- and we enjoy watching the traffic " they admit.

... is this a healthy way? none of us know for sure- ...

b'fore i step further, there are 2 pagoda's standing straight in front of palace - they believe that praying inside will give them good luck. But this will apply more on the right side of pagoda, more than others.

You will find out that one of them have more visitor & attraction, compare to others. Wasn't so sure what the plus minus from each place- but that's how its goin on.

when u pray, u need to bring in flower & burn some incense- cost u only 500 riels for those items. Then you go inside pagoda, hand over flowers to the keeper, and start your pray. Done? go outside and plug ur incense stick at places, they provide- ussualy it's 2 big buckets outside pagoda. Be careful not to burn urself, cause the sticks are so many & they still lighten up.

(i would say praying there is quite worthed, been there sometimes ago- answer comes along..good ones)

they believes when u come often, your wish will come faster ..

well, havent got chance to proove it yet ...

further more, you'll see stretch of lights & banner - where all bars, saloon, restaurants taken their place .. to entertain tourist.

it's all in one place - from internet, hair cutting, foot massage, clothes shops, cd/dvd, hotels, restaurant, bars and bars for lonely desperate tourist & locals, too.
As I say: all in one!

there are good places to hang out, somwhoe- despite of man's corner (u know what i mean) ... name it- Metro Cafe .. cool place, good food & there's some more places like this!

yups, cambodia also famous for its happy pizza - with special herb (of course, u do know) ..
